FAIRFORD & DISTRICT U3A offer people in their third age (no longer in full-time employment) a way to meet new friends and share interests after retirement. We have over 30 interest groups covering a diverse range of studies and activities, so there is something that should appeal to everyone.

We are a group of amateur artists and other with an interest in the visual arts. We often have meetings with guest speakers giving demonstrations, using a variety of media, and conducting day workshops. Visits to galleries are occasionally arranged.
We paint twice a month every 2nd Tuesday and every 4th Thursday of the month from 1.30 -4.30pm in the Heritage Room. Sessions cost £3 or less depending on numbers attending and tea, coffee, biscuits and chat are included!
Bring along your own work or follow the monthly theme Sallie has kindly put together. Advice and guidance is available for those who would like it. it's a fun way of producing work for the exhibition, please come along when you can.
Group Painting Sessions

The Group Painting sessions are designed to help members extend and improve their skills in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, at their own pace. Help will be at hand, and those wishing to "Do their own thing" are free to do so.

Fairford bridge club is a friendly duplicate bridge club held every Wednesday evening in the Farmor Room.

Fairford History Society was founded in 2004 to collect and make available documentation and information relating to the history of Fairford.
The Society has eight meetings a year in September, October, November, February (daytime), March, April, May and June when invited speakers give talks on a wide variety of historical topics. The Society also has a publications programme which focuses on specific aspects of the town’s history, some of which are available online at: https://www.fairfordhistory.org.uk/publications/
The FHS collection of local history material is located in the FHS Archive Room on the top floor of the Community Centre. The Archive Room is open on Monday afternoons 2-4pm.
FHS is always willing to receive donations of any document, photographs or objects relating to Fairford’s history.
FHS is one of the larger local history societies in Gloucestershire and welcomes new members. There is a membership fee of £5 (2020) at: https://www.fairfordhistory.org.uk/join/
Throughout the year there are events at which FHS provides a display e.g. the annual Fairford Festival. Occasionally a special event is held e.g. Fairford Heritage Open Day in 2017

Rainbows are the youngest members of the girlguiding movement and is for girls aged between five and seven and our sessions involves a wide range of activities and games.

Dance classes for pre-school and primary aged children run on Saturday mornings by Intune Dance and Movement.
Each week pre-school children go on a fun packed dance adventure which helps them to build confidence, coordination, control and to make new friends! Primary aged children can develop their skills through the RAD Ballet syllabus and are given the opportunity to take part in annual examinations and fun performances.
